In the grim darkness of the far future, Battlefield is reborn
Fight in massive 40v40 operations
Engage in all-out warfare across shattered cities, barren wastelands, and forgotten moons. Control key sectors. Push enemy lines. Deploy heavy armor, coordinate strikes, and hold together. Because falling apart means falling for good.
Winners play the objective, leaders change the game
The rhythm of war doesn’t wait. You’re either executing the plan or scrambling to stop theirs. The ones who dictate the pace dictate the outcome.

Every battle brings disorder. You bring control.

Every side has a purpose. None have mercy.
Each force brings its own weapons, its own doctrine, and its own brutal vision of victory.
Enhancing the Support Role
In Battlefield 40,000, the Support role has been reforged to meet the unforgiving demands of warfare in the 41st Millennium.

Each faction brings its own doctrine and battlefield utility.
The Refinement
In Battlefield 40,000, class roles change depending on the faction you choose. This approach stays true to the Warhammer 40,000 universe while preserving the core Battlefield experience.

As a Space Marine, Support players take on the role of the Apothecary, equipped with familiar tools like healing packs, medical crates, and fast revives. When playing as the Necrons, both the Squad Leader and Support class can reanimate fallen warriors, offering a different approach to battlefield sustain.

These changes reflect each faction’s unique identity without compromising gameplay. Roles may shift, but the focus on teamwork, objectives, and tactical depth remains.

To learn more about how each faction plays, visit the faction pages for a full breakdown. Playtests are coming soon, we invite you to try it for yourself.
Reinforcements are back.
These are tactical levers earned through squad cohesion and objective control. Learn more on each faction’s dedicated page.
The battlefields are vast. None are forgiving.
Urban sprawls, fractured wastelands, frozen fortresses, and collapsing moons. All designed for massive-scale conflict.
Avarax
The world is a juggernaut of industry, that contains cities and logistic hubs which span entire continents. Almost the entirety of Avarax's surface is devoted to manufacturing and transport, which has left the Hive World to be mostly covered in ferrocrete and plasteel. The biosphere of Avarax has collapsed into a desert wasteland due to exponential over-exploitation of the planet's natural resources.
Aegis Prime
A disciplined, militarized world where entire city blocks double as barracks, Aegis Prime is home to the 99th Cadian “Steel Line.” The Necrons consider it a personal affront to their dominion. Their brutal orbital drop assault flattened Hive Balricus and began a protracted siege against Hive Endova, where the Space Marines now fight in endless corridor battles under collapsing spires.
Demerium
The Mechanicus would excavate an ancient civilization's stone ruins with suspicious carvings. Even deeper beneath these ruins monolithic Necron Tomb World structures would be found. The Mechanicus would begin Blackstone research within the xenos complexes, and Project Aurora's Research Facility would be established somewhere deep within the Necron Tomb layer.
Fortress Maledictus
Once a bastion of hope, now a tomb of eternal war. Fortress Maledictus is ringed with defense bastions, trenchworks, and ancient macro-cannon batteries, locked in an unending siege with the Iron Warriors. Its skies are thick with ash and promethium smoke, and every day is a battle of attrition between rotating Guard regiments and the Iron Warriors' slow, grinding offensives.
Nova Bastion
A critical producer of macro artillery and siege ordnance, Nova Bastion is a prize both sides are willing to devastate. Massive armored trains ferry supplies between foundries while the 227th Armored Praetorians hold key bridges and refineries. The Necrons have infiltrated supply lines, detonating ammunition silos and slowly turning the war into a battle of sabotage and betrayal.
Terra
The final confrontation of the Horus Heresy that raged on Terra in 014.M31 between the Traitor Legions and the other forces of Chaos led by the Warmaster Horus and the Loyalist armies of the Imperium of Man commanded by the Emperor of Mankind Himself.
Kadaku
Kadaku is a harsh frontier world marked by sprawling savannahs, dense jungle canopies, and vast desert plateaus. Long contested by rival factions, its surface is scarred with the ruins of past battles, while its skies echo with constant warfare. Each fight rewriting the fate of this unforgiving planet.

Ground-Crushing Dominance
From armored transports and siege tanks to fast-moving scout vehicles, the ground war is anything but static. Each chassis brings distinct handling, firepower, and purpose. Whether it’s breaching fortified positions or holding the line under pressure.
Skies That Never Stay Quiet
Strike aircraft scream across the horizon while hovering gunships offer aerial suppression and rapid redeployments. Whether you're launching missiles from a distance or diving into hot zones for extraction, air power isn’t just an advantage, it’s a turning point.
